SUSEGANA (TV) – Astoria Wines winery in Crevada is hosting the photographic exhibition “One Day in Africa” in collaboration with Africa Magazine until June 22. The initiative showcases 40 exclusive images from the magazine’s reports, sensitively and authentically portraying the diverse faces of the African continent, capturing landscapes, people, and traditions in a typical day.
A visual journey through African cultures and traditions
The photographs document intense and varied moments, such as a school interrogation in South Sudan, a baptism in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or a Masai gathering in Tanzania, offering a portrayal far from stereotypes and capable of capturing the cultural and human richness of Africa.
Astoria’s connection with the African continent
In addition to the images, the exhibition includes an illustration showcasing Astoria Wines’ commercial and human presence in over 25 African countries, ranging from Nigeria to Namibia, Kenya to Ivory Coast. This connection testifies to the strong relationship that the Treviso-based company has developed over time with the African continent.
New artwork enriches Astoria’s spaces
Alongside the photographs, a new artistic creation by Rahim Bara, a young talent from Burkina Faso known for his “string art” technique, is on display. Bara presents the artwork “Mask Wine,” combining the symbol of the wine chalice, emblem of Astoria’s winemaking tradition, with an African mask, symbolizing the meeting of local culture and African tradition.
The artwork adds to “I figli della Croda” by Christopher Veggetti Kanku, created in 2022 at the Refrontolo Estate, reinforcing the value of multiculturalism and territorial roots that characterize the company.
