VERONA – Verona is hosting the 33rd edition of JOB&Orienta, the national exhibition on orientation, school, training, and work from November 27 to 30, 2024. The event, a reference point for students, families, and sector operators, is promoted by Veronafiere and the Veneto Region in collaboration with various Ministries and confirms itself as a unique showcase for those seeking opportunities and professional orientation.
“People, culture, technologies”: a new European humanism
The central theme of the 2024 edition, “People, culture, technologies. For a new European Humanism”, focuses on the relationship between technological innovation and human culture. The Minister of Education, Giuseppe Valditara, emphasized how Italian schools are successfully experimenting with artificial intelligence in teaching, especially in regions like Calabria. This technology offers opportunities but requires conscious management to face the challenges of the future.
Valditara also spoke about the 4+2 school reform and the “made in Italy” high school, which aims to enhance Italian excellences and strengthen the connection between school and the world of work.
Agriculture and training: Lollobrigida’s priorities
The Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, highlighted the importance of agricultural and hotel schools to meet the demands of the labor market, often overlooked by a cultural approach that penalizes these educational paths. He also supported the “made in Italy” high school project as a tool to preserve Italian productive traditions.
The role of the Veneto Region and local institutions
The regional councilor, Valeria Mantovan, stated that Veneto allocates €100 million annually to vocational training, with a focus on technological innovation and artificial intelligence. These investments aim to train young people capable of facing the challenges of a transforming labor market.
The Mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi, described JOB&Orienta as an event that not only guides towards work but also accompanies young people in fundamental life decisions.
Steady growth
Federico Bricolo, president of Veronafiere, highlighted the record numbers of the 2024 edition: over 60,000 registrations, 420 exhibitors, 140 universities (including 30 international ones), 19 Italian Regions, and 400 speakers involved in about 200 cultural events. The event stands out for the variety of proposals: conferences, seminars, workshops, and interactive laboratories that will engage thousands of visitors.
A unique event in Italy
JOB&Orienta confirms itself as a platform for dialogue between institutions, companies, and young people, offering concrete tools to build a solid professional future. Among the exhibitors stand out 7 Ministries and numerous training institutions and companies, making the event an unmissable opportunity for those seeking inspiration and information on study and work paths.
