Incidente a Bressanvido: scontro frontale tra Skoda e autospurgo

DRAMA ON THE ROAD (VICENZA) – At 3:50 PM yesterday, April 16th, a Skoda Station Wagon driven by a 44-year-old woman inexplicably crossed into the opposite lane, causing a violent head-on collision with a passing tanker truck.

Injuries and rescue interventions

According to the police reconstruction, the impact occurred in a frontal-lateral manner due to the sudden maneuver of the Skoda. The collision caused the tanker truck to veer off, ultimately also hitting a Ford Galaxy traveling in the same direction as the first vehicle involved. The entire sequence unfolded in a matter of seconds.

The reasons for crossing into the opposite lane are still under investigation by the authorities. A sudden illness or a momentary distraction while driving are not ruled out, but the official findings and medical assessments will determine the exact cause.

Injuries and rescue interventions

The driver of the Skoda, although injured, remained conscious and cooperative during the rescue operations. Paramedics rushed her to the Emergency Room of Vicenza for examinations. Fortunately, no other serious injuries were reported.

Two patrols from the Local Police of NorthEast Vicentino quickly arrived on the scene, with officers from the Sandrigo and Monticello Conte Otto precincts. The officers managed the traffic, which was completely paralyzed for over an hour, and conducted the necessary investigations.

Road blocked for over an hour

The affected stretch remained blocked until the vehicles were removed and the road surface cleaned to ensure safe circulation. Traffic disruptions also extended to nearby roads, with forced detours and significant delays.

In the meantime, many drivers opted for alternative routes, further complicating traffic management. Some witnesses described the incident as “a scene from a movie,” given the violence of the impact and the presence of debris scattered all over the pavement. The police investigations will now be crucial in determining liabilities and potential legal developments.
